    Author Larry Jorgensen and Mark Rowe, KCHS Maritime Chairman

     The "City of Bangor" shipwreck and amazing rescue of cars and crew is featured  in a new book:  “Shipwrecked and Rescued”.  The author Larry Jorgensen will sign copies and discuss the book. For each book purchased Mr. Jorgensen will donate $10 to KCHS. Maritime Chairman Mark Rowe also will be present to comment on the museum's exhibit which includes a 1927 auto rescued from the wreck, along with photos and other shipwreck memorabilia.

KCHS museum sites and cottage rentals will be open for the 2022 season.  Please see the site and rental webpages for specific dates and operation information.

The Keweenaw County Historical Society’s Board of Directors will follow the COVID-19 Epidemic Orders issued by the State of Michigan’s Department of Health and Human Services.  These public health orders are updated as needed, so KCHS may need to change access to buildings and events.
