2024 KCHS Sites and Museum Schedule

The Keweenaw County Historical Society operates eight historic sites, which includes eleven museums. Here is the schedule of hours and dates when the various sites are available to the public. (Follow the links to pages with detailed information about that specific site.)

Attended Sites:

Eagle Harbor Light Station Museum, including Lighthouse
Admission- $8 , children under 16 & KCHS members free                             Season- June 16th through October 13th
Hours-

  • June - Noon to 5 PM
  • July - 10 AM to 5 PM Mon-Sat; Noon to 5 PM Sun
  • August - 10 AM to 5 PM Mon-Sat; Noon to 5 PM Sun
  • September - Noon to 5 PM
  • October - Noon to 5 PM

Central Mine Visitors Center
Season-
June 16th through October 13th
Hours-
9am to 5pm daily

Eagle River Museum
Season-
June 19th through October 13th
Hours-  Noon to 4pm, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday

The School at Gay
Season-
June 16th through October 13th
Hours-  1pm to 4pm, Wednesday, Saturday if docent is available.

The gift shop now has thimbleberry jam from locally picked berries. All proceeds go toward preserving our historical treasures.

Taste a bit of Keweenaw  History.
Berry picking has always been a way of life here. Locals and visitors have long enjoyed our unique natural bounty.
