Caretakers of the past, stewards of the future

KCHS Rental Opportunities

Keweenaw County Historical Society MEMBERSHIP offers two opportunities to stay in an historic Keweenaw County building.  2022 Rental Reservations are being taken for both the Light Keepers' Cottage and Central Miner's Home on June 1-4, 2021 by calling Carol Todd at 269-330-4219.

The Light Keeper's Cottage

The Light Keepers Cottage is located in the Eagle Harbor Lighthouse Complex, located on Lighthouse Drive, not far from the swimming beach along M26 in Eagle Harbor.

The Miner's Home

The Miner’s Home is located in the mining community of Central, just off of US 41 north of Phoenix, and within 7 miles of both Eagle River and Eagle Harbor beaches.

News:

KCHS museum sites and the cottage rentals are open for the 2021 season, except the Bammert Blacksmith Shop which is closed for repairs.  See the museum sites’ webpages for closing dates and hours.

The Keweenaw County Historical Society’s Board of Directors will follow the COVID-19 Epidemic Orders issued by the State of Michigan’s Department of Health and Human Services.  These public health orders are updated as needed, so KCHS may need to change access to buildings and events.
